Having an epic time there
Jackson is a dream.
If you’re into physical activity, the outdoors, local beer or quality R&R — maybe even all
of these things! — we encourage you to make Jackson your personal playground. Just to
spark a bit of excitement, we’ve put together a shortlist of some of our favorite activities.
There will also be some scheduled weekend activities — more details to come!
Snow King
During summer, what’s otherwise a ski run is a steep trail. It's <2 miles, but it’ll take 45-60 minutes since it’s pretty intense!
Phelps Lake
Scenic and easy, this “hike” is more of a walk. A few miles in, there’s a boulder from which you can jump 30 feet and swim!
Jenny Lake
Moderate in intensity, this trail gives you options — either hike it roundtrip (~7.5 miles) or halfway, then take a boat back to the starting point.
Delta Lake
With elevation gain and a duration of 7 miles, this trail is moderate-to-difficult but worth it! The views are unreal, and
it never feels crowded.
Cruise down Snake River via raft — either go on a guided whitewater rafting trip or grab some beer and leisurely float (sans guide).
To rent a raft and/or schedule a tour,
go to any rafting spot in town or check out Dave Hansen Whitewater, Sands
or Lewis & Clark River Expeditions.
Rent bikes (comfort, road, mountain) from Teton Mountain Bike Tours and explore Jackson on two wheels.
If you want to stay close to town,
check out the Cache Creek trail,
which is accessible from Snow King. Otherwise, head toward the park on
the Jenny Lake pathway, or bike Old Pass Road, which climbs 2,000 feet from Wilson to the Teton Pass summit.
There are also trails accessible
from Teton Village — Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is a great resource.
Book a full-day, guided trip or rent
gear for an afternoon to fish. Most
trips will take you to Jackson Lake or Snake River, but check out any of the lakes and rivers in or around Grand Teton National Park for some action.
Book and/or rent from Snake River Angler or through your hotel.
Since it’s a holiday weekend, we suggest you get a tee time well in advance — check out Teton Pines
and Jackson Hole Golf & Tennis
Club for availability.
Another great way to explore Jackson is horseback riding, and we promise
it’ll be one of the most scenic (if not
the most scenic) rides you’ll ever have.
For trail ride availability, look into Willow Creek Horseback Rides, Horse Creek Ranch, Jackson Hole Trail Rides and Teton Village Trail Rides.
